Association Thirdspace was founded in 2009. in Zagreb, as a non-profit association working in the field of independent culture and contemporary art. Thirdspace activities include research on innovative forms of artistic expression, production and distribution of programs within the broader spectrum of an independent cultural sector, educational program of workshops and seminars and access to new tendencies in performing arts.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, within the organization, the performance collective Thirdspace operates for the creation, production and distribution of performance works in the field of contemporary performance theatre (performance art, live art, bioart, visual theatre) and transdisciplinary projects that brings performing arts into relation with various forms of sustainable development, ecological social action and new multimedia technologies.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Performance collective has had numerous notable appearances at foreign festivals (\u201cRome International Art Fair\u201d; \u201cCittadella Fluxus Art Parade\u201d, 2022; Itinerant Performance Art Festival NYC, New York; 2019, \u201cLondon contemporary\u201d, London; \u201cThe Body Language\u201d; \u201cAnima Mundi\u201d, Venice, 2019, \u201cPerforming art 3days\u201d, Pisa, 2018.) and residencies (CCA Contemporary Performance Practices \u2013 Jan Fabre\/ Troubleyn i SITI Company Anne Bogart New York, Rijeka, 2019; Performance Art Research Ljubljana PARL by performance group VIA NEGATIVA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Representatives<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Roko Naki\u0107 <\/strong>is a legal representative of organization, project manager and performing artist in contemporary theater performances. He had realized a number of performances, among others \u2018Displacement of Animals and Humans\u2019 (2018) and \u2018Flydowns-The Swarm Intelligence\u2019 (2016), produced by residential programme for artists \u2018Pogonator \u2013 Incubator for Contemporary Theater and Dance\u2019. He combines different performative practices such as acting, mime and visual art and has participated in numerous domestic and international theater and performance festivals <\/strong>(Zagreb, London, Casablanca etc.).
He holds a master\u2019s degree in Performing Arts, (Academy of Arts and Culture, University in Osijek) and master\u2019s degree in Political Science. He also has an extensive experience in international youth work in field of sustainability; community development; cultural events organizing and activist performance. <\/strong>He was project manager in several Erasmus+ projects and projects from GLCS Global Chalenges Local Solution fund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Irena Bo\u0107kai<\/strong> is project manager in Thirdspace association and performing artist in contemporary performance and crossdisciplinary art projects with broad spectrum of disciplines (bioart, performance lectures and interdisciplinary projects which are related with ecology, sociology, animal issues, human and non-human relationship, relation between art, science and health, theoretical researches in bioethics, natural sciences and misperformance studies).<\/strong> She is artistic director of the \u201cThird Goat\u201d festival, which provides an artistic response to climate change and the ecological crisis, which brings together performing arts with social and environmental action, as well as new technologies.<\/strong> She performed in many performance art projects throughout Croatia and abroad. She was a scholar of the CCA Contemporary Performance Practices program (Rijeka, 2019) by Jan Fabre\/Troubleyn and SITI Company Anne Bogart New York and the resident of Performance Art Research Ljubljana (PARL) program by performing group VIA NEGATIVA. She holds a master\u2019s degree in Performing Arts, (Academy of Arts and Culture, University in Osijek) and PhD in Literature, Performing Arts, Film and Culture (Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb). In 2022, she participate in the Life on Mars cultural training program (Bologna and online, organizers: Living Live Internationalization Gateway, organization Creative Scotland, the On the Move network and the \u201cKultura nova\u201d Foundation). Currently, she\u2019s participant of the \u201cASH MA \u2013 Art, Science and Health Master of Arts\u201d Online Pilot Course. She\u2019s a member of The Croatian Association of Drama Artists (HDDU).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 2019. Thirdspace association implements interdisciplinary \u2018zero waste\u2019 project named \u2018Museum of discarded objects\u2019 which connects art with the environmental social action and new technologies. It is a temporary physical and non-temporary virtual museum of objects that have lost their value for their owners and were turned into trash. Through art and performative context, we give objects a new value. The project also aims to establish and affirm a new type of audience by turning an individual from the role of a passive observer\/consumer of cultural content to active participant in the cultural process, in this case an exhibitor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 2021. Thirdspace is organizing festival \u2018Third Goat\u2019 in Croatian region of Istria, focused on artistic questioning of environmental issues within the framework of contemporary performance and new media practices. Festival takes place in various outdoor locations and gathers young creatives and performing artists who engage in artistic questioning of ecological issues and sustainable development together with local ecological farmers who present their work as part of ecological farms and eco parks. The Third Goat provides an artistic response to climate change and the ecological crisis, which brings together performing arts with social and environmental action, as well as new technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Actively towards sustainability!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Project \u2018Actively towards sustainability!\u2019 is implemented by the association Tre\u0107eprostor in partnership with the Open University Dr. Ante Star\u010devi\u0107 from Gospi\u0107. The project is implemented in the area of \u200b\u200bthe city of Gospi\u0107 and the surrounding municipalities. \u201eThe\u2019 Actively towards sustainability!\u2019 project benefits from a grant under the Active Citizens Fund from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, through the EEA Grants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Youth perspective on sustainable communities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project, funded by the Ministry of demographics, family, youth and social policy, and implemented with partnership with the Open University Ogulin, aims to empower youth as agents of change by supporting them to practice sustainable community development through education and the practical use of creative digital tools for sustainable development goals achievement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
